About Danielle Sands
Hello, I am Danielle sands. I’m a degree-qualified mental health nurse I am also an NLP and EFT therapist. I was born and bred in Norfolk.
I set off travelling and working around the world and returned to Norwich to do A levels in psychology and sociology. I then travelled more but sadly I had a major life event that lead me back to Norwich and the love and safety of my friends and family. This event is what sparked my interest in mental health and why people become unwell and sometimes choose a permanent solution to a temporary problem. My fascination lead me to become a mental health nurse.
I became more intrigued in why we are what we are and how to make the best of it. Risk assessment and harm minimisation was my focus however, being the optimistic, determined and persistent person I am, I wanted to know more and then realised these people with disorders and illnesses had hidden talents and true greatness. Most seemed to have found themselves in the mental health service through no fault of their own other than possibly making a few bad choices.
I spent the next few years doing every course and piece of training to better equip myself to help people. I trained as an NLP practitioner which I loved and so completed the masters course. I am also a trained EFT specialist and now have a good knowledge in many other therapeutic interventions.
In 2014 I completed my post-registration degree in mental health nursing (BSc Hons) at the Universtiy of East Anglia covering modules around mentoring, medicine, personality disorders and drug and alcohol misuse.
